Then we have the characters that are on the airships. In fact, through out the whole book, I was kept on tenderhooks because I had no clue where the plot was going!! There are so many twists and turns that it was impossible to tell. My heart was in my mouth because I didn't know what was going to happen. The author makes it such a way that you can't see what's coming. I devoured this as fast as I could and forwent sleep to finish!! Literally within the few pages the ship that X, Magnolia and Miles are on is attacked by a giant monster! They have their hands full and things are extremely tense. Ha, only kidding, this is a Smith book after all!! The book starts with an absolute bang and doesn't let up.
Book 4 sees a change of pace for all involved.
